April Monthly Meetup April 18th

OMG! We’re out of Control!
And Why That’s a Good Thing
Read almost any book about management roles and Control always comes up. Most program and project managers understand the control levers used to get work done and use it to varying degrees. But do they really understand how the use of control over people and situations can lead to getting the opposite of what was intended?
We’ll talk about how people react to control and provide an overview of another method of getting done stuff done better and faster than anyone thought possible.
“Terry Shaftel is on a mission to provide individuals and organizations who are serious about improving their leadership and management skills the interactive mentoring programs they need to succeed. Many studies show that there is a direct relationship between availability of mentoring programs, engagement, career enhancement, and a healthy bottom line.
Growing up professionally in the famous Silicon Valley of California, Terry saw first-hand what made this center of innovation tick, while working to deliver complex new products and services. He observed and learned from both teams that won and teams that failed.

Terry’s first adult job was a draftsman at Intel. From there, he moved through the ranks of several high-tech companies into management and finally as a Senior Vice President before becoming a consultant, coach, and mentor. Working his way up the ladder in several different industries, with every level and conceivable functional area, and working with customers from all over the globe gave him tremendous insights into how things really get done.
