Welcome to the Monterey Bay Chapter 2023

Members and local professionals who were interested in joining the Monterey Bay Chapter met and discussed various topics during our annual holiday party at Tarpy’s Roadhouse on December 8. Thank you for attending.

To expand our knowledge base and networks, we are currently welcoming members and others who are interested in joining the Project Management Institute Monterey Bay Chapter.

Our latest happenings:

  • December 8, 2022 holiday party: The annual member networking event was held at Tarpy’s Roadhouse. Participants selected local non-profit organizations to which the Chapter will donate a total of $500 through Monterey County Gives! They are: Food Bank for Monterey County, Rancho Ciero; and Read to Me Project.
  • December 6, 2022 breakfast meeting: Members discussed jobs and career in project management at the Black Bear Diner in Monterey.
  • November 30-December 3: Chapter president attended PMI Global Summit 2022 in Las Vegas.

Upcoming monthly member meetings:

  • January 19, 2023 - Google X contributor, Tavonga Siyavora. Through Project Mineral, he works with partner companies to bring the latest in ML/AI to advance sustainable agriculture around the world.

  • March 16, 2023.

First Tuesday Breakfast: Join us to discuss project management jobs: the content of those jobs, where they are, and where the openings are. Other topics include waterfall versus Agile, PDUs, and certification. The first 10 people to RSVP will receive a free breakfast and you can also earn 1 PDU for attending!
New Location: Marina Village Restaurant, 215 Reservation Road, Marina, CA 93933. First Tuesday of the month 7:00a.m - 8:00a.m.

Study sessions: We provide a place to study and a forum for support. A library study room with internet access. Drop-in to attend.

El Gabilan Library 2nd floor study room at 1400 North Main Street in Salinas. Dates vary, and will be announced via Meetup.
