Hello members. We held an annual plan workshop on January 15 in the Panera Bread conference room. Members discussed the state of the chapter and provided input on chapter operations and services. Thank you to those who participated. We’d still like to hear from everyone what chapter services you like, and services you would like. The information will be incorporated into the chapter annual plan that will be submitted to PMI by March 31. 

 

Our latest happenings:

• January 15, 2025: Chapter annual planning workshop at Panera Bread. The PMI annual plan process involves examining the state of the chapter and its needs; developing priorities for the chapter; and planning programs for the chapter. Participating members provided valuable inputs during this 3-PDU workshop.

 

• February 4, 2025: First Tuesday Breakfast meeting 7:00 am – 8:00 am.
  The Breakfast Club, 1130 Fremont Blvd., Seaside, CA 93955.
  The first 10 people to RSVP will receive a free breakfast and you can also earn 1 PDU for attending. Register via https://www.meetup.com/PMI-MontereyBay. Free to members and non-members.

 

• February 19, 2025: Member social gathering 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm. Brass Tap, a new venue in Marina. 99 General Stilwell Dr., Marina, CA 93933.

 

• March 12, 2025: Presentation on Incident Command System. 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm. In-person meeting. Location to be announced.

Monthly member meetings will be scheduled for third Wednesdays in various formats including online presentation, in-person professional meeting, and social meet-up.

Board update:

• Nominations for annual election of chapter Board of Directors.
  The board is actively seeking nominations for the Board of Directors positions for July 2025-June 2026 board year. Voting will be scheduled for April-May. Board members serve one-year term. Any PMI Monterey Bay Chapter member can serve on the board.
• All positions except for President and Past-President will be selected by election. Please see position descriptions in the Members Only page on the chapter website. Please send nominations to president@pmi-mbay.org. You can self-nominate or recommend another member.

 

• Appointment of President-Elect and VP Programs for the current term.
  The board will appoint eligible member to fill two open positions for the current board year. Please send interest or recommendations to president@pmi-mbay.org.

The PMI San Francisco Bay Area Chapter Mentorship Program fosters a community of project management professionals from all industries and experience levels. Join the PMI-SFBAC Mentorship Program as a Mentor or a Mentee! 2025 Cohort 1 registration is open through Jan 21, 2025 for Mentors and Mentees. The PMI La Crosse-Rochester Chapter Professional Development Day (PDD). February 13, 2025. Hybrid. Registration is $260 for non-chapter member. • PMI North America Leadership Institute Meeting 2025: November 9-12, 2025 in Phoenix, Arizona, and the Global Summit 2025 November 12-15. The chapter will send up to two officers to these events.
