Hello members. The October member meeting was held in-person on October 17. Chris Morello, Deputy Executive Director of Monterey Regional Airport (MRY) presented the MRY Metamorphosis and the Safety Enhancement Program. In this exciting and interactive presentation Chris explained how much thoughts and ideas have been incorporated into the design and planning for the project. It can be characterized as a collection of projects that complement to improve user experience, expand services, and enhance the safety of operations, while remaining fiscally disciplined. Thank you Chris for an amazing evening. We also would like to thank Ahtna Global, an environmental, construction and professional services company, for hosting this event.

  • November 5, 2024: First Tuesday Breakfast meeting 7:00 am – 8:00 am.
    New location: The Breakfast Club, 1130 Fremont Blvd., Seaside, CA 93955.

  • November 21, 2024: Monthly member meeting 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm. Supercharge Your Virtual Meeting by Becoming a Miro Superhero by Jeff Panning, PMP, ACP, MBA, JP Training & Consulting, LLC. https://www.linkedin.com/in/jeffpanning/
    Miro is an online collaborative whiteboard. Participate in exercises using Miro for retrospectives, brainstorming, and prioritizing. Jeff will also share how to improve facilitation skills based on the 4 C’s of workshops and collaborative meetings. Please register via https://www.meetup.com/PMI-MontereyBay. Monthly member meetings are usually held on third Thursdays in various formats incl. online presentation, in-person professional meeting, and social meet-up.

  • PMI Learning Portfolio: PMI transitioned micro-credential courses to eLearnings. Complete any purchased courses by December 31 to retain its micro-credential status. After this date, these courses will no longer be termed 'micro-credential' but the content of the courses will remain the same and upon completion, you will earn a Badge and Certificate of Completion.
  • Access PMI Job Board and Career Center. (pmi.org).
  • Types of PMI membership: The individual membership is $159/year. Student membership is available to currently enrolled as a full-time student in a degree-granting program from a college or university. $32/year.
    Retiree membership is available at an exclusive rate of $65/year. A PMI member who has retired from active employment and has remained in good standing for the past five consecutive years is eligible. (https://www.pmi.org/membership).

The Board of Directors plans and executes member activities; facilitates learning, networking and engagement; and connects you with member benefits. We plan to meet monthly on first Wednesdays. Two vacant positions are available – please contact president@pmi-mbay.org to find out more. Any PMI Monterey Bay Chapter member can serve on the board.
