Join us at the Monterey County Food Bank to hear Melissa Kendrick, CEO, speak about the many projects the Food Bank is undertaking to reduce food insecurity and create opportunities for the less fortunate in our county. The Food Bank is currently feeding 1 in 3 children and 1 in 4 residents in Monterey County with over 40% of Monterey County residents feeling food insecure. Melissa will tell us about the Food Bank's expansion masterplan which places the child at the center of their learning and uses food to engage all aspects of the child’s education by connecting an on-site garden to the classroom through experiential education. We will get a tour of the updated facilities which are unlike any other food bank in the country, and refreshments will be served from the amazing chefs at the Food Bank.
